Bexley District was formed in October 2011 by the merger of four districts within the Borough of Bexley. For more information see the attached brochure that details the history of Scouting in Bexley during its first 100 years. Download brochure here.

The management of Bexley Scout District is split into two elements, overseen by the District Commissioner who is a uniformed leader. Delivery of Scouting to young people is managed by Commissioners and Deputy District Commissioners who focus on supporting Group Leaders, delivery of the national programme, youth events and activities.

The governance of the District is managed by the District Executive, which comprises both uniformed and non-uniformed volunteers. It is the role of the Executive to ensure that the District complies with the rules of the National Scout Movement and the Charities Commission.
